Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do you provide vegetarian / halal / food?

Yes we do, we can provide meals to suit all types of dietary requirements, including intolerances and allergies.  All our food has no added sugar and is salt free. We offer nutritious, well balanced food for all age groups.

What is your staff ratio and how many children are there in each room?

Our Baby room – Mini explorers –  suitable for 9 babies, the ratio is 3 babies to 1 adult

Our Toddler room – Adventurers – takes 8 -two to three year olds ratio is 4 children to 1 adult

The Preschool room – Investigators- can have 24 plus children, the ratio is 8 children to 1 adult

What is your sleep routine and is the room quiet during sleep times?

Most children are ready for a nap after lunch time and they do get offered time to rest.  We will follow parent’s wishes so if there’s a restriction on a child’s sleep, for example 1 hour, we will wake them up, take them to the toilet if needed and offer them a drink upon waking.

Mini Explorers room – babies may sleep according to their own demands and we have the facility to allow them to get their rest when need it.

Do you do potty training?

We start potty training in the Adventurers room as we feel that there are a number of things children have to be ready for as part of being ready to use the toilet.  They should be able to push down or pull up their pants or knickers, wash their hands and begin to feel and acknowledge bowel movements.  We take them to the toilet at regular intervals which are spaced out so that children may learn bladder control.
